Wedding Photography

• What happens when booking with me?

  The majority of people aren’t familiar with the process of booking a wedding photographer so you’re not alone. Don’t worry though; my process is efficient to ensure the minimum amount of disruption to you and your partner.

  I’ve outlined this step by step below:

  1. Contact me and arrange a no pressure consultation where you can look at my portfolio of work, have a brief chat and look over some wedding books for inspiration.
  2. Pay a deposit to secure the date in my diary. (If your happy with what you see, you can skip step 1 and secure the date straight away).
  3. Closer to your big day, we have a venue visit / church visit if required, do a full consultation so I can document all the details of the day – ensuring I capture all those special moments (timings etc.)
  4.  I arrive on your big day, capturing all those moments we have discussed.
  5. I then edit your wedding images, and supply you them in a USB Gift set which I aim to get to you WITHIN 7 DAYS from the day of your wedding.
• When do you pay the final payment?

  Final payment can be arranged to suit your needs, either on the day or before.

  Luke photographed our wedding on 22 June 2014 at Walton Hall,
  Wakefield and did an absolutely fantastic job.  Luke’s work speaks for itself but we wanted to write this review to describe the extra little things he does – that you don’t get to see in the photos – which contributed to making our day truly special.  It started with our pre-wedding consultation, where Luke visited us to agree the details of what we wanted and a timetable.  This was a huge help, as ours was only the second wedding we had ever been to! On the morning when we were getting ready, Luke really made us all feel at ease and helped us out with so many things that were definately above and beyond! When it came to the ceremony we didn’t even notice that we were having our photo taken, which I think is a real skill and helped us maintain that intimate feel that we wanted. For our family photos Luke was organised and efficient, taking all the photos we had listed – and more – pretty fast, leaving our guests to enjoy the day. He even managed to get “open-eyed” shots of family and friends who are notorious for blinking during photographs! When it came to our couple photos, Luke really excelled and had so many ideas.  He laid on the grass (narrowly missing the droppings from the local wildlife!) and even stood on the roof of his car – all in the name of the perfect shot – which really paid off. We also have to credit how fast he provided us with our pictures, as they were waiting for us when we returned from our 3 day honeymoon.  In summary, it’s no doubt that we had a beautiful venue for photographs but Luke’s enthusiasm, flexibility and creativity has meant that we’ve ended up with a unique collection of memories that is something special; thank you, Luke!  xx

  Throughout the preparations and during the big day, Luke remained professional and respectful to our ideas. Due to unforeseen circumstances with a local company, we could not access the location we originally chose for our wedding photos. However, Luke quickly adapted to the situation with alternative ideas which removed the stress from us and our photos turned out to be beautiful as though we had planned them to be there all along. Always being prepared, Luke came to our rescue during our photos with umbrellas when it began to rain. From my own experience, some photographers try to force you to change your ideas to suit them and intrude on your special day by staging all photos. Luke Wicks Photography was a dream to work with as he captured the essence of our day as we wanted it with a mixture of natural shots as well as structured family portraits. Our photos were edited and digitally ready for us to use the day after our wedding to an excellent quality. We could not have asked for a better photographer to be part of our special day and would recommend Luke Wicks Photography to anyone in the future.

  We asked Luke to be our photographer for our wedding in July 2012. He made me feel totally at ease after our meeting a few months before the wedding, I knew that he understood what I wanted from my wedding photos, and came up with some ideas reflecting exactly what I wanted. He also understood the problems we have with conflicting sections of my now husband’s family, and worked out how to include them all within the formal photographs.

  On the day, he was absolutely fantastic. I was running late, as all brides do I guess, and without causing any problems took thebridesmaids and ring bearers off to get some shots of them. This meant I now have some fantastic photos of them, I had extra time to get ready, and it meant there weren’t lots of people around when I was trying to get myself ready, so I had a bit of peace before the mayhem of the day fully commenced. It also meant that we could do my individual photos in relative privacy, as the bridesmaids had already been done as a group.

  Throughout the day he was readily available any time there was a request for a photo, and for the formal photos managed to get all thefamily and friends in the right place without seeming bossy or rude. He also talked directly to the master of ceremonies so that he could work out timings for photos so that the timings for the rest of the day weren’t affected, and I didn’t have to panic about time.

  I now have some gorgeous photos of my wedding, and everyone felt comfortable with him, and commented how nice he was, and relaxed. Our photos are everything we ever could have wanted.
